mindfulness sessions for individuals
Mindfulness training through a series of one-to-one sessions: an initial face-to-face meeting, followed by 6 weekly sessions over Skype, Zoom, or Google Hangouts. An essential element of this approach is the focus on self-enquiry which is specifically tailored to you and what you bring to your practice.
how does it work?
At an initial consultation, we will explore your needs together. This is followed by a block of six weekly sessions of 50 minutes each, during which you'll learn key mindfulness practices, tailored to your particular needs and level of experience.
You'll have daily home practice to complete in your own time between sessions. This will include formal mindfulness meditation practice as well as informal daily activities to bridge the gap between meditation and day-to-day living. We'll review this together the following week.
what happens in a one to one mindfulness session?
You'll be introduced to specific mindfulness practices and to the process of self-enquiry which is a core aspect of mindfulness training, and will help you establish your own self-guided practice. Towards the end of the programme we will explore together how you might continue to deepen and regularise your personal practice, both formally through meditation and in everyday life.

6 weekly sessions
normally over Skype, Zoom, or Google Hangouts.
I do not, generally, offer these sessions face-to-face, although just occasionally I may be able to make special arrangements. I regret I am not able to make home visits.
duration: 50 minutes each at a regular, pre-agreed time.
cost: £420 for 6 sessions

style and content
You'll be introduced to simple mindfulness meditation practices and deepen your awareness through tuning in to your actual experience – becoming more responsive, less reactive.
The focus is on being with your experience, altering how you relate to difficulty, and especially to things you can’t change.
The style of learning is experiential: you develop mindfulness skills through putting them into practice in a variety of ways.
structure
There’s a clearly defined, structured programme, facilitated with sensitivity and flexibility. I encourage you to think of it as six weeks’ daily home practice, supported by weekly sessions.
Each session builds on the previous one and on the home practice between, so it’s important you can commit to regular weekly sessions, all are integral to the programme.
home practice
In between each of the seven sessions the programme requires a commitment to daily practice. It's very likely you'll need to make adjustments to your life in order to fit this in. The benefits of doing so, supported by an experienced and committed practitioner, can be truly significant.
Some of the practice can be woven into your everyday activities. However, you'll be asked to set aside about 20 minutes a day for formal meditation practice.

one-to-one mindfulness sessions
in north London
The preliminary session is held at the Barnsbury Therapy Rooms, 144 Liverpool Road, Islington, London N1 1LA. The consultation rooms are on the first floor, and I regret there is no lift. I'll let you have detailed directions to the appropriate venue when we arrange an initial appointment.
Thereafter, the session are normally conducted remotely, which I have found to be a very effective means of mindfulness training and excellent alternative and/or adjunct to on-line training.. I regret it is not normally possible for these sessions to take place face-to-face.
