monthly mindfulness therapy group for therapists, counsellors and health professionals

A well held group can create a place of trust, where feedback, and sometimes challenge, from others as to how they experience you – and how you experience others – can co-create opportunities for deep and meaningful exploration. It can offer a space in which to deepen your moment-by-moment understanding of:

  • your relationships – with friends, family, partners, colleagues and people you connect with in everyday life
  • how to listen to yourself
  • how to listen to others
  • how to express yourself more authentically, more effectively
  • what you want from life and how you might bring this into being

Bringing moment-to-moment awareness to how we experience ourselves – and others – can offer a regular, ‘live’ space in which to work, with other people, on things that come up in daily life. Group process can help us explore unresolved issues that continue to surface in group contexts (work, family, social); offer new ways of processing difficult emotions that recur or don’t seem to shift.

A mindfulness therapy group has life-changing potential: we can learn to connect with others and with ourselves at a deeper and more satisfying level. It can be an intense learning experience; an opportunity to work with the defences that so often hold us back in everyday relationships and prevent us sharing ourselves authentically.

I offer workshops for therapists and other health professionals who bring mindfulness into their lives and professional work or are interested in doing so. 

who are the workshops for?

The workshops offer an experiential introduction for therapists, counsellors and health professionals who are new to mindfulness practice, and an opportunity for more experienced practitioners to deepen their practice.

We explore how mindfulness practice can support self-regulation as well as how appropriate mindfulness-based interventions may be offered to clients or patients.

mindfulness workshops for therapists and health professionals

Sunday 30 June
10:00 am – 4:00 pm

£125 per 1-day workshop – select your date below (early bird cost before 24 June: £95)

venue: Hackney Therapy Rooms, 342 Kingsland Road, Haggerston, London E8 4DA (walking distance from Haggerston and Dalston overground stations; frequent buses pass by)

Suitable for both newcomers to mindfulness-based approaches and experienced practitioners, the workshops are experiential in focus and we will explore:

  • developing a personal mindfulness practice
  • drawing on mindfulness as a self-care and self-regulation resource
  • when to introduce mindfulness approaches to clients
  • how to introduce mindfulness approaches to clients 
  • contra-indications: when is it not appropriate to introduce clients to mindfulness-based approaches

Whilst each workshop stands alone the second builds on the first, and you are encouraged to come to both.

Information

Once you have made your payment your contact details will be added to a mailing list to enable you to receive an automated email confirming receipt; you will also receive an email containing a link to your registration page. Please complete and submit your registration information within  24-48 hrs. Your place on the event is not confirmed unless you have received a personal email from Lokadhi confirming that you have been accepted on the workshop (normally within 5 working days of submission of your registration information).  A full refund will be made if you are not accepted for the workshop. You are invited to bring vegetarian/vegan lunch to share with other participants; there are a few modest cafes within walking distance if you prefer.

terms and conditions

By placing a booking you are indicating that you have read, understood and accepted the following Terms and Conditions.

– You are booking this event for yourself and not for somebody else.
– You are over 18 years old.

After payment you will receive an email with a link to a secure online registration form.

Your place on the course is not confirmed until you have completed and submitted the online registration, and you have received a personal email from Lokadhi confirming that you have been accepted on the course; this process normally takes up to 5 working days.

cancellation and refund
No refunds are made within 10 working days of the start date of the event. 50% of the fee paid will be refunded when a cancellation is made between 11–30 working days of the date of the first event you are booking. A full refund will be made when a cancellation is made more than 30 working days in advance of the event.

exclusion
Lokadhi reserves the right to refuse access to the premises and event where there is reason to believe that these conditions have been breached or where threatening, bullying, harassing or disruptive behaviour occurs. Lokadhi will not be liable for any losses or expense (including event fees and consequential damages) incurred by anyone attending a course.
